The Black Keys at the Agora

The Black Keys

The Black Keys were in Cleveland to play two shows on Friday and Saturday Night. The Akron duo played a soulful set Saturday night that rocked the core of the 25 year old venue known as the Agora. Fans filed in to be a part of the movement and were not let down as guitarist/vocalist Dan Auerbach and drummer Patrick Carney pounded out their rhythmic beats for the capacity crowd. Mixing in tracks from all over their eight year career, the place was teased with transitions and jam sessions and came to fever pitch as they played “Stack Shot Billy” from their 2004 album, Rubber Factory. It is hard to imagine such a thick and complex sound could come out of two men and their instruments. One fan simply put it “Dirty… dirty”. Yes, it was dirty, raw and from the heart which is why The Black Keys are developing such a strong following.
